A meeting of the EC "EU4Digital: supporting digital economy and society in the Eastern Partnership" project took place
An online meeting of the working group on eCommerce of the European Commission project "EU4Digital: supporting digital economy and society in the Eastern Partnership" was held on 10 November 2020. The meeting was devoted to Azerbaijan. It was attended by representatives of the project coordinator Ernst & Young Baltic UAB, eCommerce experts from France, Lithuania and Austria, representatives of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies, AZEXPORT.AZ portal and private companies.
The main part of the meeting was devoted to the discussion of the results of surveys conducted in Azerbaijan in 3 areas:
1. Questionnaire for assessment of the eCommerce ecosystem in the eastern partner countries
2. Questionnaire for assessment of standards related to eCommerce in the eastern partner countries
3. Questionnaire for assessment of the legal framework in the eastern partner countries
These surveys were conducted in Azerbaijan by Tofig Babayev, eCommerce expert of project, Director of R.I.T.A., Legal & Financial NCP of HORIZON 2020.
Based on the results of the 3 surveys, the differences between the EU and Azerbaijan in the field of ecosystems, legislation and standards related to eCommerce were noted at the meeting, and the recommendations of the foreign experts were taken into account.
T. Babayev spoke about how the surveys had been conducted and answered the participants' questions.
Following the meeting, it was decided to submit the results of the surveys for assessment to the relevant agencies.
