Azerbaijani scientists took part in the 7th EaP Research and Innovation panel meeting in Brussels
The 7th Eastern Partnership Research and Innovation panel meeting took place in Brussels, Belgium on 13 December 2019.
The meeting was attended by representatives of various governmental, scientific and educational institutions of the EU Member States and Eastern Partnership countries. Speeches and presentations on such topics as the “Results of the EU-EaP Research and Innovation Conference for 2019 and the discussion of the 2020 action plan,” support for research and innovation in the Eastern Partnership, key results and cooperation suggestions within the framework of the EU EaP Plus project, diagnostics and comparative analysis of the current situation in the field of technology transfer in 12 neighboring EU countries, information on Proposal Writing Camp and Expert Consultation events, information on the Maria Sklodowska-Curie scholarship program, Horizon EUROPE program for 2021-2027 and the participation of the Eastern Partnership countries in COST projects, etc. were made at the meeting.
The issues discussed at the meeting were priority areas of research and innovation, events dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the Eastern Partnership, scientific topics and areas of technology transfer activities.
Our country was represented by Emin Safarov, representative of the Embassy of Azerbaijan in the Kingdom of Belgium, members of the Horizon 2020 NCP network in Azerbaijan: director of R.I.T.A , Legal and Financial NCP Tofig Babayev, Manager on Strategic Development of the Azerbaijan National Anti-Doping Organization, European Research Council program NCP Ilham Gumbatov, Head of the Department of Health Policy and Planning, Center for Public Health and Reforms of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Food Security, Sustainable Agriculture, Marine and Maritime Research, Bioeconomy and Biotechnology NCP Nabil Seyidov and a representative of the Azerbaijan European Education Association Mukhtar Hajizade.
The Azerbaijani delegation actively participated in the discussions. I. Gumbatov made a presentation on the participation of the Eastern Partnership countries in COST projects, T. Babayev met with Matthias Wurch, Proposal Writing Camp representative and representatives of Belarus, Georgia.
