Idealist 2014 Project Proposal Writing Training in Dublin, Ireland on 6-7 June, 2012Dr. Babayev took part in the Proposal Writing Training held in Dublin, Ireland, on 6-7 June, 2012, within the framework of Idealist 2014 Project. The training was attended by NCP ICT of more than 40 countries. The two-day training was conducted by Dr. Sean McCarthy and devoted to the stages of FP7 project proposal preparation process from proposal writing to proposal evaluation. All stages of project proposal preparation were analyzed in detail and exchange of opinions was held with the purpose of raising the level of project preparation service to researchers in the participant countries.

Advanced training session (workshop) for FP 7 Contact Points in SC countries and Moldova, Tbilisi, Georgia on 28-29 May, 2012 Two-day advanced training session (workshop) for FP 7 Contact Points in SC countries and Moldova was held in Tbilisi, Georgia on 28-29 May, 2012. Participating in the training session conducted by EU experts Vasileios Stamatopoulos and Aziz Koru, Dr. Babayev gave detailed information on the structure of NCP institution in Azerbaijan, in particular NCP ICT and shared his opinions on raising the level of cooperation between Azerbaijani and EU scientists within the framework of FP 7.

Participation in the first meeting of the EU-Azerbaijan Subcommittee on 9-10 February, 2012 in Baku.

Tofig Babayev, Director of R.I.T.A., NCP ICT Azerbaijan, participated in the first meeting of the EU-Azerbaijan Subcommittee on Employment and Social Affairs, Public Health, Training, Education and Youth, Culture, Information Society and Audiovisual Policy, Science and Technology held on 9-10 February, 2012 in Baku. Dr. Babayev spoke in the section "Increase of research potential of Azerbaijan by researchers exchange and other means”, reporting on the work conducted by NCP Azerbaijan in 2009-2011 on increase of scientific potential of Azerbaijan by holding training workshops, infodays for dissemination of information on European Research Area.

Participation in the Briefing Session & Tutoring Session for Modules 1 and 2 of the “Academy of ICT Essentials for Government Leaders on 6-7 February, 2012 in Baku Tofig Babayev, Director of R.I.T.A., NCP ICT Azerbaijan, participated in the Briefing Session & Tutoring Session for Modules 1 and 2 of the "Academy of ICT Essentials for Government Leaders” co-organized by UN-APCICT/ESCAP (the United Nations Asian and Pacific Training Centre for Information and Communication Technology for Development/ Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific) along with the Civil Service Commission under the President of Azerbaijan and held on 6-7 February, 2012 in Baku. Dr. Babayev gave presentations on Module 9 (Disaster Risk Management) and Module 10 (ICT and Climate Change) at the briefing session on 6 February. Station of robust noise monitoring of anomalous seismic processes (RNM ASP station) developed at the Cybernetics Institute of ANAS for determination of time of anomalous seismic processes preceding earthquakes was given as an example of application of ICT in Disaster Risk Management.

Participation in PICTURE kick-off meeting on 26-27 January, 2012 in Nice, France.

Tofig Babayev, Director of R.I.T.A., NCP ICT Azerbaijan, participated in the Kick-off meeting of PICTURE project (Policy dialogue in ICT to an Upper level for Reinforced EU-EECA Cooperation), which R.I.T.A. is a member of, held on 26-27 January, 2012 in Nice, France.
The meeting helped to identify ways to support the policy dialogue between the European Union and EEAC on scientific technical cooperation in ICT, to start discussions on creation of Thematic Working Groups and on identification of pilot projects.
The key meeting outcome is next 9 month work plan discussed and validated by all partners.

The EU ICT 7th Framework Programme in Oslo (Norway) on 20-21 September, 2011 Tofig Babayev, Director of R.I.T.A., NCP ICT Azerbaijan, took part in the meeting in Oslo (Norway) on 20-21 September, 2011, devoted to the EU Horizon 2020 scientific research and technology programme. Exchange of opinion was conducted with ICT NCP representatives of the EU research and technology framework programmes from over 50 countries.
Workshops on the procedures of participation in the EU 7th Framework Programme were organized in March-May 2011. Innovative project proposals from all laboratories of the Institute were considered and 7 project proposals were selected to participate in the 7th Framework Programme.

R.I.T.A. participates in the projects of the 7th Framework Programme on 27-30 November, 2011 in Brussels (Belgium) Director of R.I.T.A., NCP ICT Azerbaijan Tofig Babayev paid a working visit to Brussels (Belgium) on 27-30 November, 2011.
The trip was initiated by the official invitation from the ICT Research and Innovation Department of the EU Information Society and Media Directorate General to participate in the 4th ICT Coordinators’ Day in Brussels on 28 November, 2011, and in the NCP meeting in Brussels on 29 November, 2011.
