PICTURE Workshop on Content technologies and information management PICTURE Workshop on Content technologies and information management was organized on 24 May, 2013. The main aim of the Workshop was to bring together the European and EECA knowledge networks in the field of "Content Technologies and Information Management” to give a joint response to global challenges. The Workshop was attended by representatives from European Technology Platforms (ETPs); high level ICT stakeholders from the EECA region; members of PICTURE Working Group on "Content Technologies and Information Management”. 
Dr. Babayev made a report on the topic "R&D Potential, ICT R&D priorities and National ICT Structures interested in Cooperation with the ETPs in Azerbaijan”.

ICT Eastern Partnership (EaP) Information Day successfully organized

ICT Research and Innovation in Horizon 2020 - Eastern Partnership (EaP) Information Day took place in Kyiv, Ukraine on the 23rd of May 2013. Jointly organised by DG CONNECT (EC), Ukrainian State agency on science, innovations and informatization, Ukrainian ICT NCPs, National Technical University of Ukraine "Kyiv Polytechnic Institute" and PICTURE project (FP7), the event was attended by more than 140 participants, in majority - EaP ICT stakeholders.

Supported by the Eastern Partnership Platform IV, and the Multilateral Part of the European Neigborhood Policy Instrument (ENPI), it aimed at helping participants to better understand the role of ICT in Horizon 2020, to exchange experience of EaP countries participation in FP7, and to present ICT research priorities in Eastern Partnership countries based on the findings of the PICTURE project as well as the project pilot actions planned for 2013-2014.

Kyiv workshops Director of R.I.T.A. Tofig Babayev and 5 other experts from Azerbaijan (Prof. Adalat Hasanov, Prof. Azad Bayramov, Dr. Elkhan Sabziyev, Dr. Tahir Alizade, and Khalida Melikova) participated in the following ICT events taking place in Kyiv, Ukraine on 22-24 May 2013.

The CEENet/CEENGINE NREN Users Workshop or CEEUSER was held on 22 May, 2013. The event addressed the prominent research organisations and institutions who are either connected or intend to connect to the respective National Research and Education Networks in Eastern Europe (NRENs).

Minsk TIBO2013

Minsk TIBO2013 Director of R.I.T.A. Dr. T.A. Babaev was a member of the Azerbaijan delegation that took part in the 20th International Specialized Forum on Telecommunications, Information and Banking Technologies "TIBO-2013" in Minsk on April 23-26, and in the Belarusian-Azerbaijani business forum in the field of ICT on April 24.
The TIBO forum has been traditionally drawing attention of the leading Belarusian and international manufacturers of equipment, technologies, and software since 1994; this fair is one of the largest in this field in the CIS and the Baltic countries. Products of over 300 companies from 15 countries were exhibited at the event.
At the business forum, T. Babaev made a presentation on the topic of the network of RNM ASP stations developed at the Cybernetics Institute of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences under guidance of Director Professor Telman Aliev. In the summary of the results of the 2nd Belarusian-Azerbaijani business forum in the field of information and communication technologies, Deputy Minister of Communications and Informatization of the Republic of Belarus put a special emphasis on the project of the network of RNM ASP stations and its importance to reduce risk and ensure safety during disasters.

IDEALIST2014 Financial Training, Brusells Director of R.I.T.A., NCP ICT in Azerbaijan Tofig Babayev took part in the special Training on Financial Training (Finance Helpdesk-2 days workshop) for ICT NCP held by IDEALIST2014 project in Brussels on 8-9 April 2013. The main purpose of cross-training was to familiarize with the new rules of project finance Euro Commission Framework Programme as well as consideration of the various aspects of project funding cycles.
