Director of R.I.T.A. participated in the meetings on the issues of supporting the development of digital economy in the Eastern Partnership countries
Tofig Babayev, Director of R.I.T.A., Digital, Industry and Space NCP of Horizon Europe, Head of e-Commerce working group, attended 2 meetings, organized by the European Commission on 24-25 October 2022, devoted to the support for the development of digital economy in the Eastern Partnership countries.
During the Eastern Partnership Digital Conference, held on October 24, the importance of the topic of digital transformation in the Eastern Partnership was demonstrated through online discussions attended by high-level stakeholders from the EU and Eastern Partnership countries. In the updated policy priorities of the Eastern Partnership, sustainable digital transformation means four main pillars: digital infrastructure, eGovernance, digital economy and innovation and cyber sustainability - cybersecurity. The conference discussed the importance of digital technology in addressing the challenges and recent developments in the region.
The Kick-Off and Steering Committee meeting, held on 25 October, focused on the specifics of how the EU4Digital Phase II project supports digital transformation through the EU4Digital initiative and partner projects. The event was dedicated to the official opening of Phase II of the EU4Digital Facility (2022-2025), the central project of the flagship regional EU4Digital initiative. During the event, the contribution of the project team, country representatives of the EU4Digital project and EU4Digital expert networks played an important role in terms of a comprehensive approach to the objectives set to support digital transformation in the EU. The project team detailed the pilot projects to be implemented in the Eastern Partnership countries in the coming years (2022-2025).
