Director of R.I.T.A. participated in the 4th Working Group Meeting on Research and Innovation
Tofig Babayev, Director of R.I.T.A., Digital, Industry and Space NCP of Horizon Europe, Head of e-Commerce working group, took part in the 4th Informal Working Group Meeting on Research and Innovation in Tbilisi, Georgia on October 20-21, 2022.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, the Ministry of Science and Education of Azerbaijan, the Ministry of Economy of Azerbaijan and the Science and Training Center. At the meeting, the representatives of Azerbaijan participated in several sessions, including the sections on the participation of the Eastern Partnership countries in the priority areas of research and innovation programs, the expansion of the development of the Eastern Partnership countries within the Horizon Europe framework program and international cooperation in the European Research Area.
The program consists of 4 sections:
Section 1. "Eastern Partnership Priorities in Research and Innovation-state of implementation".
Section 2. "EaP countries and Horizon Europe: How to increase participation in the programme?".
Section 3. "International cooperation in the European Research Area (ERA) - values and principles".
Section 4. "Technology Transfer and Smart Specialisation".
Speaking in Section 2, Tofig Babayev suggested that a Coordination Support Action (CSA) project should be added to the calls for proposals to enhance the participation of EaP countries in Horizon Europe. The scientist noted that this type of project would be able to participate in the 5 core Horizon Europe missions in all EaP countries and in EaP countries participation missions. This project aims to identify research institutions of the Eastern Partnership countries and to subsequently create consortia and participate in joint projects.
