Director of R.I.T.A. participated in the Eastern Partnership Business Forum
Eastern Partnership Business Forum: Geoeconomic Challenges and Opportunities was held in Prague, Czech Republic, on October 17-18, 2022.
The Azerbaijani delegation headed by First Deputy Minister of Economy Elman Aliyev was composed of the representative of the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBİA), head of Alat Free Zone Valeh Aleskerov, Ambassador of Azerbaijan to the Czech Republic Adish Mammadov, Director of R.I.T.A., Digital, Industry and Space NCP of Horizon Europe, Head of e-Commerce working group Tofig Babayev and a group of Azerbaijani businessmen.
The Eastern Partnership Business Forum was organized by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic in cooperation with other partners as part of the Czech Presidency of the EU Council and was held at the Prague Congress Center.
Special sessions were organized at the business forum, highlighting the main areas in which economic cooperation can develop successfully in the coming years.
The Eastern Partnership countries are important partners of the EU in investments, modernization of communication or economy, including energy and digital transformation. Therefore, the purpose of the forum was to discuss existing opportunities for deepening and expanding economic and trade cooperation.
The Eastern Partnership countries and the EU shared new ideas on how to further strengthen the partnership and promote economic integration processes with the EU beyond 2022.
The forum focused on the following sectors of cooperation: energy transition; digital transition; smart cities; smart agriculture; and investment verification.
Tofig Babayev spoke at the forum in the section of the Panel of Digital Transition on "The major developments in domestic and cross-border logistics in Azerbaijan" and reported on the work done in the field of digitalization of cross-border logistics in the country. The scientist also talked about the possibilities of cooperation with the EU in this field.
