Horizon 2020 workshop at AMU
A workshop on Horizon 2020, the EU 8th Framework Programme for Research and Innovation, was held at the Training and Research Clinic of the Azerbaijan Medical University (AMU) on 6 July.
Rauf Baylarov, Pro-rector for Scientific Research of the University, said that the EU 8th Framework Programme for Research and Innovation Horizon 2020 is the largest grant program in the European Union.
Then Tofig Babayev, Director of R.I.T.A., Legal & Financial NCP HORIZON 2020 in Azerbaijan, spoke about the EC research and innovation framework program, giving detailed information on the history of EU framework programs, the new strategy and HORIZON 2020 framework program. He stressed the fact that Azerbaijani researchers could be involved in this technological development and innovation program, which is the European Union's largest grant program.
Parviz Bagirov, Operations Section Officer at Delegation of the European Union to Azerbaijan, and HORIZON 2020 NCPs Ilham Humbatov and Zaur Hasanov also said that this program is indispensable to promoting cooperation among researchers from different countries.
Rahima Gabulova, the HORIZON 2020 NCP for Health, Demographic and Social Change and Wellbeing, said that she was satisfied with the workshop that had been six months in the making.
Introducing the participants to the program's information sources, R. Gabulova emphasized that four years of the project have already ended, giving detailed information on the opportunities of winning grants and the relevant rules and conditions.
