Dr. Babayev gave presentations on Module 9 (Disaster Risk Management) and Module 10 (ICT and Climate Change) at the briefing session on 6 February. Station of robust noise monitoring of anomalous seismic processes (RNM ASP station) developed at the Cybernetics Institute of ANAS for determination of time of anomalous seismic processes preceding earthquakes was given as an example of application of ICT in Disaster Risk Management.]]> Admin Wed, 08 Feb 2012 14:57:00 -0500 Participation in PICTURE kick-off meeting http://rita.az/index.php?newsid=11 http://rita.az/index.php?newsid=11 Participation in PICTURE kick-off meeting Tofig Babayev, Director of R.I.T.A., NCP ICT Azerbaijan, participated in the Kick-off meeting of PICTURE project (Policy dialogue in ICT to an Upper level for Reinforced EU-EECA Cooperation), which R.I.T.A. is a member of, held on 26-27 January, 2012 in Nice, France.
The meeting helped to identify ways to support the policy dialogue between the European Union and EEAC on scientific technical cooperation in ICT, to start discussions on creation of Thematic Working Groups and on identification of pilot projects.

Exchange of opinion was conducted with ICT NCP representatives of the EU research and technology framework programmes from over 50 countries.
Workshops on the procedures of participation in the EU 7th Framework Programme were organized in March-May 2011.
