1st Workshop “Towards Harmonisation of Digital Markets (HDM) in the Eastern Partnership”

1st Workshop “Towards Harmonisation of Digital Markets (HDM) in the Eastern Partnership” 1st Workshop "Towards Harmonisation of Digital Markets (HDM) in the Eastern Partnership” was held on 29 July 2014 in Brussels and gathered about 60 delegates from 9 EU Member States, all 6 Eastern European Partner countries and officials from EU Institutions. This workshop marked the beginning of formal consultations on an Eastern Partnership Action plan on HDM. It aimed at promotion of information society policies and capacity building in the EaP for creating interoperable cross-border services between the Eastern European partner countries and with the EU. The primary goal is to identify a limited number of joint priorities as a basis for pilot projects and build political support for a new Eastern Partnership initiative on Harmonising Digital Markets (HDM).
The Azerbaijani delegation at the workshop consisted of a representative of the Ministry of Communications and High Technologies of the Azerbaijan Republic Mr. Umudov Etibar, Vugar Safarov, Manager of Prosper Cartoon Studio & Prosper Digital Agency, and Director of R.I.T.A., ICT/FET NCP in Azerbaijan, Tofig Babayev.
Dr. Babayev made a presentation on the state of the DM in Azerbaijan (the 14 topics) and pointed out very important topics in the first stage of implementation of HDM.
The second HDM Workshop will be held in Brussels on 21-22 October 2014.
