EECA Cluster 1st Review Meeting of EAST-HORIZON/ EECA-2-HORIZON in Minsk
EECA Cluster 1st Review Meeting of EAST-HORIZON/ EECA-2-HORIZON was held in Minsk on 11-13 March 2015. Representatives of 14 countries took part in the meeting. Azerbaijan was represented by NCP ICT Director of R.I.T.A. Dr. T. Babayev and senior specialist S. Babayeva. At the review meeting, the most significant events held within two projects in the first period were reviewed and the work plan for the second year was discussed.
The series of information days and detailed presentations on Horizon 2020 held by R.I.T.A. before the twinning event and during it, demonstrated the increasing interest of researchers in the new programmes. InfoDays were held at the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, Azerbaijan State Economic University, the Azerbaijan Institute of Tourism, the Azerbaijan Architecture and Construction University, the Azerbaijan Technical University, which resulted in 13 project ideas submitted before the twinning event (some were already rejected by Azerbaijan ICT NCP as unconformable with EU Research programmes) and 7 during the event.
The twinning event itself demonstrated that many participants are not familiar with the new structure of Horizon 2020 as well as activities supported by this research and innovation programme. Our suggestion for improving the situation is to conduct a new poll among Partner Search users to determine their abilities and needs.
