HORIZON 2020 Information Day took place at AzUAC
On the initiative of the Department of Foreign Relations, an Information Day on the HORIZON 2020 EU Research and Innovation Program was held at the Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction (AzUAC) on 10 December 2019. The main purpose of the Information Day was to inform the scientists, young researchers and doctoral students of the university about HORIZON 2020 and urge them to take part in the program.
University Vice Rector for International Relations Professor Nargiz Abdullayeva welcomed the guests and participants of the event and gave a brief review of the event.
At the event, Director of R.I.T.A , Legal & Financial NCP of HORIZON 2020, eTrade expert in the EU4Digital project Tofig Babayev made the presentation about the program. Esmira Alirzayeva, Head of the International Relations Department of ANAS, spoke about the benefits of the program for young researchers. Among other NCPs, Zaur Hasanov informed the participants about the Maria Skłodowska-Curie scholarship program, Farhad Yusifov about the opportunities in the field of information and communication programs, Ilham Gumbatov about the Cost Action and ERC programs, and Rufat Efendiyev about the preparation of projects, project requirements and project evaluation categories.
At the end, the guests answered many questions from the participants of the event and an exchange of views was held.
HORIZON 2020 is the biggest EU Research and Innovation program ever with nearly €80 billion of funding available over 7 years (2014 to 2020) It is the financial instrument aimed at securing Europe's global competitiveness. The programme is build around three pillars: Excellent Science, Industrial Leadership, and Societal Challenges and covers all scientific areas.
