Harmonisation of Digital Markets in the EaP” and 1st EaP Senior Officials Meeting on Digital Economy held on 6-7 May 2015 in Brussels
The Azerbaijani delegation (Izbendiyar Aliyev, Head of Department at the Ministry of Communications and High Technologies, Vugar Safarov, representative of the Azerbaijan Entrepreneurs Confederation, Director of R.I.T.A. Dr. Tofig Babayev, Elkhan Sabziyev, IT expert, Kiber Ltd, Sakhavat Garayev, representative of the State Customs Committee) participated in 3rd Workshop "Towards Harmonisation of Digital Markets in the EaP” and 1st EaP Senior Officials Meeting on Digital Economy held on 6-7 May 2015 in Brussels. The events were organized by European Commission, ICT Association INFOPARK and the Latvian Presidency of the EU.
On 6th May, during the 3rd HDM Workshop, stakeholders from the EaP (administration, industry, civil society and financial institutions) had the opportunity to discuss the draft findings of the HDM study that were distributed to the participants upon registration. Discussion aimed at confirming the correctness and completeness of the findings or, help identify missing and incorrect elements. This session was open for all participants
On 7th May in the morning, during the 1st EaP Senior Officials Meeting on Digital Economy, senior
ministry representatives discussed the importance of Digital Economy in the EaP, in view of the forthcoming 1st EaP Ministerial meeting on Digital Economy, planned for the 11th June 2015. A draft ministerial declaration distributed to the participants upon registration was discussed thoroughly. This session was open primarily to ministry representatives. Other participants attended as observers or, for contributing supporting information as experts. In parallel to the Senior Officials meeting, HDM experts among the participants of the different delegations met to discuss further the findings of the HDM study and elaborate on the identified national harmonisation actions and projects.
