The 6th meeting of the Working Group on eTrade within the EU4Digital project was held
The 6th meeting of the Working Group on eTrade within the EU4Digital project covering the European Union and the Eastern Partnership countries took place in Minsk, Belarus, on 4-5 June 2019.
Azerbaijan was represented at the meeting by the Director of R.I.T.A., NCP for Legal & Financial Aspects of the EU Horizon 2020 program, EU4Digital eTrade expert Tofig Babayev, Chief Specialist of the Data Processing Center of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies of the Republic of Azerbaijan Nadir Rasulov and Head of Dıgıtal Customs Administration of the Main Directorate for Technological Innovations and Statistics of the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan Rauf Guliyev, representative of the State Customs Committee in the EU4Digital project.
The main purpose of the meeting was to conduct an expert evaluation of the projects included in the Action Plan of the Working Group and to select the projects to be implemented in the framework of the tender announced by the European Commission for 2019-2021.
During the meeting, the representative of the State Customs Committee Rauf Guliyev took part in discussions on the topic “Exchange of preliminary information between customs services” and spoke about the exchange of electronic information between Azerbaijan and Georgia and Azerbaijan and Ukraine in the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan.
The members of the Working Group discussed the development of digital transport and logistics corridors, the creation of cross-country eTrade platforms, the provision of transport and commercial documents in the digital environment through the mutual recognition of electronic signatures, the harmonization of the national legislation of EaP countries with the EU legislation, etc.
One of the main topics discussed was the participation of the EaP countries in pilot eTrade projects that Ernst & Young will implement as part of the EU4Digital project in 2019-2021.
Speaking at the event, Tofig Babayev expressed Azerbaijan’s readiness to participate in the proposed pilot eTrade projects.
